Goa, Aug. 21 -- After an Acute Diarrhoeal Disease (ADD) case suggestive of cholera was reported at the Goa Medical College (GMC), health authorities have detected 19 cases at Cutbona Jetty, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane confirmed on Thursday.
The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has launched immediate preventive measures, including screening of workers, testing and cleaning of water tanks, stocking of essential medicines, and conducting awareness drives in the affected area.
Rane said that the situation is being closely monitored and all necessary steps are being taken to control the spread of infection. "We have mobilised teams on the ground to ensure quick containment and treatment. Public health safety remains our top priority,"...
