Goa Has Taken No Fresh Loans This Fiscal, Repaid Rs.600 Crore in Old Debt: CM Pramod Sawant
Goa, July 16 -- Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the Goa government has not availed any fresh loans between April and July of the current financial year, while repaying nearly Rs.600 crore of debt borrowed around a decade ago.
Highlighting the state's financial position, the Chief Minister said the decision reflects the government's prudent fiscal management. He noted that although Goa is eligible to borrow up to Rs.4,000 crore under the prescribed limits, the government has deliberately chosen not to raise any fresh loans during the period.
