Goa, Sept. 15 -- Minister Subhash Phal Dessai has announced that the government is in the process of establishing a Goa Maritime Board to strengthen the state's potential in shipbuilding, coastal infrastructure, and maritime tourism.

In addition, the government is exploring the launch of the region's first degree course in shipbuilding, aimed at linking education with employment opportunities in the growing sector.

Phal Dessai said the twin initiatives would not only boost Goa's maritime economy but also create a skilled workforce ready to support shipbuilding and related industries.
