Goa, Sept. 23 -- Goa's government has clarified that there is no proposal to relocate Omkar, the elephant, to Vantara. Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane stated that talks are underway with Karnataka authorities to help reintegrate Omkar into his natural habitat with the assistance of other captive elephants.

The minister added that the operation is likely to commence after Dusshera, ensuring a smooth and safe transition for Omkar back to the wild.

Rane emphasized that the welfare of the elephant remains a priority, with careful planning being undertaken to facilitate his reintroduction into a natural environment.
