Goa govt can't withhold release of salaries: Diocesan Society
PANJIM, Aug. 23 -- The Goa government can't withhold the release of salaries for staff of aided minority institutions anymore after the recent order of the High Court of Bombay at Goa, otherwise it would be a direct case of contempt, counsel for Diocesan Society of Education, Adv Vinod Korgaonkar said
"The Director of Education, Shailesh Zingde, has withheld approvals and salary disbursements, citing ongoing management committee and internal society matters. However, the High Court has already ruled that the staff and teachers are unaffected by these internal issues and that their salaries must be released," Korgaonkar said.
