Goa, Nov. 6 -- Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has asserted that the Goa government is prepared to defend the Mhaje Ghar law at every judicial level, including the Supreme Court.

Sawant clarified that only one matter concerning houses situated on comunidade land under the scheme has been challenged in court, while the remaining provisions of the scheme are not under dispute.

Expressing confidence in the government's legal position, the Chief Minister urged officials not to be deterred by the ongoing court challenge or allow it to affect the implementation of the Mhaje Ghar scheme.

He maintained that the government would pursue the legal battle if necessary while continuing efforts to implement the scheme.
