Goa Gets Rs.147 Crore Fisheries Boost Under PMMSY
Goa, Aug. 11 -- Goa has received a significant boost to its fisheries sector, with projects worth Rs.147.24 crore approved under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) between 2020-21 and 2025-26. Of the total approved cost, Rs.72.19 crore is the Centre's share, while Rs.53.05 crore has been released so far, benefiting 803 people. The development comes as India's fish production rises from 147.25 lakh tonnes in 2020-21 to 197.75 lakh tonnes in 2024-25. Other schemes, including FIDF, PM-MKSSY and Kisan Credit Cards, are also supporting fisheries infrastructure.
