Goa, June 30 -- The Goa Electricity Department has announced a major relief for domestic electricity consumers with single-phase connections. Under the revised guidelines, the sanctioned load for eligible consumers will now be upgraded automatically up to 5 kW based on electricity consumption recorded by their meters.

The move eliminates the need for consumers to submit online applications for routine load enhancements, making the process faster and more convenient. Officials said the automatic upgrade will be determined by actual power usage, ensuring that households receive an appropriate sanctioned load without unnecessary paperwork.
