Goa, July 26 -- In a significant development for the state's agricultural sector, Goa has reduced its dependence on imported vegetables by 40% and has begun exporting 20% of its locally grown produce, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced.
Speaking at a public event, the Chief Minister highlighted the strides made by the state in boosting local farming and self-sufficiency in vegetable production. "Goa is no longer fully dependent on imports for its vegetable supply. We've successfully cut down imports by 40%, and today, 20% of our vegetables are being exported," Sawant said.
He credited the achievement to the concerted efforts of local farmers, state-supported agricultural initiatives, and improved market access for Goan produce. ...
