Goa, June 29 -- Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has said that the Congress has reached out to opposition parties and existing alliance partners to initiate discussions on forming a broader alliance ahead of the upcoming elections.

Speaking to the media, Chodankar said the party has sent requests to various opposition groups and is open to working with all those committed to defeating the BJP.

"Anyone who wants to defeat the BJP is welcome to join the alliance," he said, emphasizing the Congress' willingness to build a united opposition front.
