Goa, Aug. 26 -- Christian toddy tappers in Goa have demanded political reservation for members of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community ahead of the upcoming elections.

The community has questioned why OBCs should not be provided political reservation when similar provisions are available to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities.

The toddy tappers have urged the government to take steps to ensure political representation for OBCs before the elections, arguing that the community should have a greater presence in elected bodies.
