Goa, Oct. 26 -- Congress leader Amit Palekar has questioned the testing of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in Goa, alleging discrepancies during a trial in which 15 votes were cast in favour of three political parties.

Responding to the allegations, Goa Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjay Goel termed the claims baseless and clarified that the machines had undergone First Level Checking (FLC) in the presence of representatives of all political parties.

Goel stated that the party representatives had signed off on the machines following the checking process. He further clarified that no internal testing had been conducted, adding that no one is permitted to carry out such testing.
