Goa, Aug. 1 -- The Goa Tourism Department has prohibited 19 unauthorised activities at tourist destinations across the state in a bid to enhance visitor safety, maintain hygiene and preserve public order.

The ban covers a range of prohibited practices, including public consumption of alcohol, operation of illegal beach shacks, ticket touting, littering, and driving vehicles on beaches and sand stretches.

The Goa Police have been tasked with strictly enforcing the regulations under the Goa Tourist Places (Protection and Maintenance) Act. Authorities said the crackdown aims to safeguard tourist destinations and ensure a cleaner, safer environment for both visitors and residents.
