Goa, Sept. 17 -- Authorities in Goa conducted raids at two locations today targeting the illegal sale of tobacco products near schools.

At a tea stall owned by Rajkumar Ghosh (27) in Zori Zuarinagar, located within 100 meters of a government school, tobacco products worth Rs.8,515 were seized. Ghosh is the son of Babu, a resident of Zori Zuarinagar.

In a second raid at Jakir Mobile Repairing Shop near Shree Mahalasa Narayani School, IDC Verna, tobacco products valued at Rs.2,200 were confiscated. The shop owner, Jakir Hussain (33) from Assam, was found violating regulations on tobacco sales near educational institutions.

Legal action is being initiated against both individuals under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.
