Goa, July 29 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday assured the Assembly that the Goa government is fully committed to reviving the state's mining industry in a structured and transparent manner. Speaking during the monsoon session, Sawant shared that 12 mineral blocks have already been auctioned. Of these, three are already operational, while four more are expected to begin work within the next two months.
He acknowledged that the delay in restarting operations has largely been due to the extensive clearances needed from multiple regulatory bodies. However, he gave a firm assurance that full-fledged mining activities across Goa will resume by October.
