Goa, Sept. 25 -- The Goa Legislative Assembly has reconstituted two important House Committees-one on the Mhadei river diversion issue and another on the proposed establishment of a common burial ground.

The House Committee tasked with studying matters related to the Mhadei river diversion will now be chaired by Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar. The government has also appointed MLA Nilesh Cabral as a new member of the committee, replacing MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, who vacated the seat following his election as Speaker of the Assembly.
