Goa, July 30 -- The Global Romi Lipi Abhiyan has expressed strong disappointment over the rejection of a resolution to introduce Romi Konkani in schools, which was tabled by Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira in the Goa Legislative Assembly.

The group criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for remaining silent on the issue and allegedly ignoring well-reasoned arguments presented by opposition legislators. Citing the Jha Commission report and provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Abhiyan reiterated that Romi Konkani deserves recognition and inclusion in Goa's education system.
