Goa, July 3 -- Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has alleged that the newly announced "Rs.100-crore political party" is a BJP-backed initiative aimed at dividing the secular vote ahead of future elections in the state.

Addressing the media, Chodankar claimed that the new political outfit was being floated to weaken the opposition and benefit the BJP by fragmenting votes traditionally cast in favour of secular parties.

He maintained that the Congress remains united and committed to strengthening its organisation across Goa, dismissing suggestions of internal divisions within the party.
