Goa, Aug. 22 -- Students of Goa College of Engineering (GEC), Farmagudi, have opposed the decision to conduct regular classes on Saturdays, with many students boycotting classes on Saturday as a mark of protest.

The students had earlier submitted a petition bearing the signatures of more than 1,100 students to the college Registrar, urging the authorities to reconsider the decision.

Despite the representation, a number of students stayed away from classes on Saturday to express their opposition to the move.

The students are seeking a review of the decision to schedule regular academic sessions on Saturdays.
