Goa, Aug. 5 -- Satya Pal Malik, former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and a veteran political figure, passed away at the age of 79. Malik was widely known for his prominent role during the historic abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which revoked J&K's special status.

With a political career spanning over four decades, Malik held several significant gubernatorial positions, including in Goa, Meghalaya, Bihar, and Jammu & Kashmir. His tenure in J&K marked a crucial turning point in the region's political and constitutional landscape.
