Goa, Sept. 3 -- A fire broke out in a second-floor flat at the Wilson Plaza building on Thursday morning, causing extensive damage to the bedroom and household belongings.

The flat was locked at the time of the incident as the occupants had reportedly left for work. The fire completely gutted the bedroom and damaged electrical equipment, furniture and other items inside the room.

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

Fire personnel rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and brought the blaze under control. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
