Goa, July 9 -- France coach Didier Deschamps confirmed on Wednesday that FIFA has rejected the team's appeal against the yellow card shown to Michael Olise during France's World Cup Round of 16 victory over Paraguay.

Olise, one of the standout performers of the tournament, was booked in the closing stages of the ill-tempered encounter in Philadelphia following an altercation with Paraguay's Matias Galarza.

Speaking to reporters in Foxborough ahead of France's quarter-final clash against Morocco at Gillette Stadium, Deschamps said FIFA had decided to uphold the booking.

"The yellow card has not changed. We were notified by FIFA this morning; it has been maintained," Deschamps said.
