Goa, June 17 -- The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) conducted an extensive surveillance drive across Candolim, Anjuna, Vagator, and Mapusa on July 16, inspecting a total of 17 food business establishments, including restaurants, retailers, food vendors, and wholesalers.

During the inspection, officials observed multiple instances of non-compliance with food safety regulations and directed nine establishments to suspend operations until the deficiencies are addressed in accordance with prescribed norms.

As part of the enforcement exercise, the FDA team also visited the Alankar area in Mapusa to inspect additional food outlets and review the compliance status of establishments that had previously been ordered to cease operations.
