Goa, Oct. 28 -- Fatorda Police have arrested a 51-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Ziaul Shaikh, for allegedly stalking and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Ambaji, Goa.

According to police, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children's Act.

Following his arrest, the accused was remanded to 10 days of judicial custody.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
