Goa, April 25 -- Egyptian and Pakistani foreign ministers have met to coordinate efforts to launch a new round of talks between the United States and Iran, as regional tensions remain high. In Islamabad, large parts of the capital stayed under strict security lockdown for over a week, complicating daily life in a city where many residents commute between work and family homes.

Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan but Tehran quickly clarified there would be no direct meetings with U.S. officials, stating that Pakistani authorities would act as intermediaries.
