Goa, July 5 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the process to delist four Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs) in Goa for failing to meet mandatory compliance norms. These include not contesting any election since 2019 and lacking a verifiable office address.

This action is part of a wider national exercise aimed at reviewing over 2,800 RUPPs across India. The ECI found that a significant number of these parties had become inactive or untraceable, violating basic registration norms.
By delisting such parties, the Election Commission aims to streamline electoral rolls and promote greater transparency and accountability in the political process.
