Goa, June 8 -- Several Indian expatriate workers were among the seven people killed in a devastating road accident on Dubai's Emirates Road on Monday, the Indian Consulate in Dubai confirmed.

The tragedy unfolded when a minibus collided with a truck that had reportedly broken down and stopped in the middle of the road. The crash also left nine people injured, prompting an immediate response from emergency services and local authorities.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the Indian Consulate expressed grief over the loss of lives and said officials had already visited the hospital to meet the injured Indian nationals.
