Goa, July 11 -- A 49-year-old man from Mahakhazan in Dhargal, Pernem, was killed in a horrific road ac cident at Goa Velha late on Thursday night after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a self-drive rental car driven by a 16-year old minor under the influ ence of alcohol.

The deceased has been identified as Janardhan Tu karam Harmalkar (49), a resident of Mahakhazan, Dhargal. According to the police, the accident occurred at around 10.51 pm on July 9 near the United Colors of Benetton showroom on the NH-66 highway at Goa Vel ha, under the jurisdiction of Agacaim Police Station.
