DRAG Alleges Poor Implementation of 4% Job Reservation for Persons with Disabilities in Goa, Demands Stronger Enforcement
Goa, June 9 -- The Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) has alleged that several government departments are failing to effectively implement the mandatory 4 per cent reservation in public employment for persons with disabilities (PwDs), resulting in a large number of reserved posts remaining vacant.
Addressing the issue, DRAG President Avelino de Sa expressed concern over the absence of reliable and transparent data on the recruitment of persons with disabilities across various government departments. He said the lack of proper monitoring and implementation of reservation norms has deprived many eligible candidates of employment opportunities.
