Goa, May 11 -- US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's latest proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month-long conflict in the Middle East, calling Tehran's conditions "totally unacceptable" and increasing fears of renewed escalation in the region.
The American President, who has been facing mounting domestic pressure to bring the conflict to an end, claimed that Iran had been "militarily defeated" and asserted that Tehran's nuclear programme - one of the primary reasons behind the US-led military campaign - had been effectively contained.
In a brief statement posted on his social media platform, Trump confirmed that he had dismissed Iran's counteroffer, though he did not disclose specific details of the proposal.
