Goa, April 9 -- Digambar Kamat has said that his party was confident of winning the Ponda by-election, even as he acknowledged the High Court's decision to cancel the poll.

Reacting to the development, the PWD Minister stated that the verdict was a matter for the judiciary to decide and must be respected. "It's the decision of the High Court. We were confident of winning the Ponda bypoll, which was a sure victory," he said.

Kamat further expressed confidence not only about the by-election outcome but also about prospects in the municipality, indicating continued optimism within the party.
