Goa, Aug. 6 -- Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Wednesday inaugurated the Van Mahotsav tree plantation drive in Margao in the presence of former councillors and local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamat announced that saplings will be planted at 14 locations across the city as part of this year's Van Mahotsav celebrations. He said the initiative is aimed at enhancing Margao's green cover while encouraging greater environmental awareness among citizens.

Kamat urged residents to actively participate in the plantation drive and contribute towards preserving the city's ecological balance. He said community involvement is essential to ensure the success of such environmental initiatives and the long-term survival of the planted trees.
