Goa, Sept. 9 -- The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services has integrated the State's Fire and Emer gency Services with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) 112, making 112 the sin gle emergency number for fire, rescue and other emergencies. Following the integra tion, calls made to the exist ing toll-free Fire and Emer gency helpline 101 will be automatically rerouted to the ERSS-112 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).

The calls will then be processed and dispatched to the concerned fire sta tion through the integrated system. The Directorate has appealed to the public to dial 112 instead of 101 for genuine fire, rescue and other emergencies.
