Delhi Police may seek passport cancellation of riot accused after CJP protest: Sources
Goa, July 23 -- Delhi Police is preparing to initiate passport cancellation proceedings against individuals accused of participating in violence during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) Chalo Sansad march, according to police sources. The proposed move comes alongside criminal proceedings already being initiated against those identified in connection with the unrest.
The protest, held earlier this week, turned violent after demonstrators allegedly attempted to breach security barricades near Parliament. In response, police used tear gas shells, lathi-charge and anti-riot vehicles to disperse the crowd. Several protesters and police personnel sustained minor injuries during the clashes.
