India, March 17 -- Residents of Davondem on Tuesday met Madhu Narvekar, Chief Officer of the Margao Municipal Council, to raise objections over a proposed mega housing project comprising 296 flats.

During the meeting, locals demanded that an immediate stop-work notice be issued for the project.

Responding to their concerns, Narvekar assured the residents that all legal documents related to the project would be verified and that a site inspection would be conducted before any further action.

The residents strongly opposed the development, stating that they would not allow any project that could adversely impact the village's ecosystem.
