CORTALIM, Oct. 8 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will join the Goa Rakhoon Yatra on October 8, as part of an initiative to stand with Goa and its people, protect the state's identity and safeguard its future.

The padyatra will commence at 3 pm from near the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue at the Birla petrol pump and proceed towards Cansaulim Junction.

The yatra, themed "Goa Will Rise," aims to highlight issues concerning Goa's identity, people and future. Shivakumar's participation is expected to lend support to the campaign and its message of protecting Goa's interests.
