India, Feb. 13 -- Panic gripped residents of Velus and Satode after a crocodile was sighted near the Velus-Satode bridge in Sattari on Friday night.
According to villagers, the reptile was seen close to the bridge area, prompting fears for the safety of pedestrians and motorists who frequently use the stretch. Locals said the sighting has created anxiety, especially among residents who travel at night or early morning.
Villagers have urged the authorities and the Forest Department to conduct an inspection and take necessary measures to ensure public safety. They have also appealed to people to remain cautious and avoid venturing near the waterbody until the situation is assessed.
