Goa, June 5 -- Nine teams inspect 48 scrap yards across Goa to identify illegal immigrants and workers without valid documentation.

As part of preventive policing and internal security measures, the Crime Branch Goa conducted a state-wide verification drive at scrap yards across the state, inspecting dozens of establishments and verifying the identities of workers.

According to police, nine dedicated teams were deployed to carry out inspections at 48 scrap yards located in various parts of Goa, including Mapusa, Colvale, Porvorim, Margao, Davorlim, Zuarinagar and Cortalim.
