Goa, Oct. 21 -- A 39-year-old pedestrian, Manoj Kankonkar from Corlim, died after being struck by a car near the Corlim railway bridge. He was rushed to Goa Medical College (GMC) but succumbed to his injuries.

Old Goa Police have registered an FIR against the driver, alleging rash and negligent driving. Authorities are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.

The tragedy has raised concerns about road safety in the area, with locals urging stricter enforcement of traffic rules and speed regulations.
