Goa, Oct. 7 -- The Tiswadi Block Development Officer (BDO) has disqualified Corlim Sarpanch Gorakhnath Kerkar and his wife, Deputy Sarpanch Supriya Kerkar, as panchayat members for conflict of interest, misuse of official position, and participating in decisions where they had a pecuniary interest.

The action follows a petition filed by Purso Dhulapkar and Honu Dhulapkar, residents of Dhulapi, Corlim, under Section 12(1)(d) read with Section 55(4) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.
