Goa, June 6 -- Congress leaders Nazir Khan and Nandadeep Raut have criticised the government over the continuing issue of coal pollution in Vasco da Gama, alleging that coal-handling operations at the Mormugao Port Authority are being allowed to continue without adequate checks.

Addressing the issue, the leaders claimed that residents of Vasco have been facing persistent health and environmental challenges due to coal dust and related pollution. They alleged that insufficient action has been taken to address the concerns of the local community despite repeated complaints.
