Goa, May 30 -- Residents and local representatives have expressed concern over the alleged discharge of sewage water into the sea from the premises of a resort in Cavelossim, raising fears of marine pollution and potential health risks for beachgoers and fishing communities.

The issue has triggered calls for immediate action and an inquiry into the alleged discharge, with locals warning that untreated sewage entering coastal waters could have serious environmental consequences.

Panchayat member Iris Passanha said the matter has been taken seriously and that a formal complaint will be submitted to the village panchayat for further action.
