Goa, Nov. 3 -- Responding to allegations of defections, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that leaders had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of their own accord after witnessing its governance, political stability and development initiatives.

Sawant maintained that the party did not need to induct leaders from other parties to secure a majority, asserting that the BJP had sufficient support to remain in power.

His remarks came amid allegations and criticism over political defections in Goa.
