Goa, Oct. 7 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday announced that Goa has achieved 50% self-sufficiency in vegetable and flower production. Speaking to farmers, he emphasized the importance of utilizing fallow land for fodder cultivation, noting that the government spends crores of rupees annually on importing fodder.
CM Sawant warned that if the current generation shuns farming, there is a risk that future generations may also avoid taking up agriculture. He encouraged farmers to adopt modern farming techniques and diversify crop cultivation to strengthen the state's agricultural self-reliance.
