Goa, Aug. 18 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged Goans to take advantage of the government's circular for the regularisation of houses built before 1972, as reflected in old survey plans. He said that application forms for the scheme will be available starting September and encouraged residents to keep all necessary documents ready for a smooth process.

Sawant highlighted that the long-awaited Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction Bill will soon come into effect, addressing longstanding issues related to old and irregular structures across the state. The circular, effective from August 1, clarifies that eligible houses will be treated as settled land, eliminating the need for fresh conversion sanads during reconstruction.
