Goa, Dec. 15 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday announced a significant expansion of powers for Zilla Panchayats (ZPs), stating that key responsibilities related to community farming will be devolved to the district-level bodies.

Making the announcement, the Chief Minister said that the initiative aims to strengthen grassroots governance and promote participatory development. He added that community farming under the Zilla Panchayats will also encompass initiatives linked to the "white revolution," including dairy farming, as well as fishing-related projects.
