Goa, June 26 -- Residents of Chimbel have strongly opposed the proposed urbanisation notification, expressing concerns over its potential impact on the village's character and future development.

Villagers have demanded that a special Gram Sabha meeting be convened to discuss the proposal in detail and allow residents to voice their views before any decision is taken. They have also urged MLA Rudolph Fernandes to intervene and address the community's concerns.

As part of their campaign against the proposal, residents have decided to launch a door-to-door awareness drive to educate people about the implications of the proposed urbanisation and encourage wider public participation in the issue.
