Goa, Oct. 28 -- Opening batter Shafali Verma has been recalled to the Indian team after being named as Pratika Rawal's replacement for the ongoing Women's World Cup 2025. The change comes just days before India's semifinal clash against Australia in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. The ICC's Event Technical Committee approved Shafali's inclusion after Rawal sustained a right ankle injury while fielding in the league match against Bangladesh. Notably, Shafali had been left out of both the main and reserve squads when the 15-member team was announced in August, making her return a crucial boost for India ahead of the knockout game.
