Goa, June 14 -- The Crime Branch has arrested two more individuals in connection with the massive Rs.5.36 crore fraud involving the Goa Samagra Shiksha program, a flagship education initiative of the Government of Goa.

The accused-Mriganka Joarder (37) and Subhashis Sikdar-both residents of West Bengal, were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs.5,36,03,000 from the Government's Savings Bank Account.

Authorities confirmed that the two suspects played key roles in the coordinated scheme, which had earlier led to the arrest of five others. With these latest arrests, the number of individuals apprehended in the case now stands at seven.
