Goa, Nov. 5 -- The Cavelossim panchayat has decided to approach the Nation al Green Tribunal (NGT) over the alleged destruc tion of natural sand dunes at Mobor-Cavelossim for a construction project, while Benaulim MLA Ven zy Viegas has warned that he would challenge the project before the Central government and courts and would not allow it to be completed. Addressing a press conference in Margao, Cavelossim Sarpanch Dix on Vaz alleged that natural sand dunes were being de stroyed at Survey No 99/2E despite the panchayat issu ing two stop-work notices.

He said the panchayat had twice written to the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), seek ing a joint inspection to ascertain the nature and extent of the alleged viola tions. Alt...
